Sol Ruca Reflects On 2023 ACL Injury: “Before The Injury, I Was Just Doing Way Too Much”

Sol Ruca learned from the injury.
In the first year of Sol Ruca’s in-ring career, she suffered an ACL injury that kept her out of action until the following year.
While speaking to Nine, Ruca looked back on the 2023 injury and said she learned a lot from it. She felt she was doing ‘way too much’ before the injury happened.
“That was rough – I never had any serious injuries in gymnastics or in college, so that was the first time I’d had to go through anything like that. It was a crazy time; I’m happy I went through it and it definitely helped me to listen to my body a bit more. I think before the injury, I was just doing way too much and wrestling is so different to athletics … it’s not like any other sport. It was definitely a learning curve and that injury forced me into learning about how to do stuff while also protecting my body.”
Ruca is coming off a 57-day reign as WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Her run was ended by Raquel Rodriguez on the 7/27 Monday Night Raw.
