Solo Sikoa: I Feel Like There Were Plans For Me In NXT, But It All Worked Out

Solo Sikoa comments on potential plans for him in NXT before he got called up to the main roster.

Sikoa made his NXT debut on NXT Halloween Havoc 2021. He quickly became a fan-favorite star on the brand, and he challenged for the NXT North American Championship on multiple occasions. While he initially failed to win the title, he established himself as a force to be reckoned with. Sikoa arrived on the main roster at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 and joined The Bloodline. He then returned to NXT on the Septembr 13 episode and defeated Carmelo Hayes to win the NXT North American Championship, but he was forced to relinquish the title the following week because he wasn't a member of the NXT roster anymore.

The Elite: We're Getting AEW Back To What It Was Supposed To Be

Speaking with Josh Martinez on Superstar Crossover, Sikoa was asked whether there were plans for him on NXT, specifically related to the NXT North American Championship, before he got called up to the main roster. He responded by noting that he felt like there were plans for him to challenge for the gold and potentially face NXT Champion Bron Breakker. However, he stated that everything worked out, and he's hopeful he'll have the chance to challenge for another title soon.

“I felt like, before I got called up, there were a lot of plans to go after [the NXT North American Championship], to go over Carmelo Hayes and maybe Bron Breakker, you know, generation versus generation. I just felt like it worked out just fine. Just letting everybody know that I never lost the North American Title. I had to give it up, so that’s different things. I just felt like the plans worked out just fine because I’m here and I’m going after another title, hopefully soon," Sikoa said.

Sikoa's hot streak has continued on the main roster, as he has picked up a number of impressive victories. Alongside Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, and The Usos, he was on the winning team for the Men's WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series 2022.
