Sonya Deville Explains Decision To Reinstate Charlotte Flair, Doesn't Always Answer To Adam Pearce

Charlotte Flair's "indefinite suspension" lasted less than one week as she was back on Monday's Raw thanks to Sonya Deville.

WWE official Adam Pearce "suspended" Charlotte following the April 19 episode of Raw after she attacked a referee. On Monday, Deville was present on Raw and officially reinstated Charlotte after she sort of apologized to the referee.

Appearing on Raw Talk, Deville explained her decision.

"I feel like everyone is completely misunderstanding what I'm trying to do here. I call everything straight down the center. I have no bias towards anybody on either roster. I'm honestly here to do my job the best that I can and I want everyone to have a fair opportunity. I honestly thought Adam Pearce's decision was a little rushed. He didn't hear Charlotte out. He heard one side of the story and made a dramatic decision," she said.

Pearce did not seem pleased with her actions after the reinstatement was made.

When asked if she consulted with Pearce, Sonya said, "It's really complicated. It's a complicated relationship. We communicate sometimes, sometimes it's a last minute thing and I have to pull the trigger. I have to trust myself. I don't always have to answer to Adam Pearce, just like he doesn't always have to answer to me. If there's a last minute decision to be made, I'm gonna step up and do it. I'm human, Charlotte Flair is human. She made an error, she apologized for it on national television and we went on with our business. At the end of the day, Charlotte Flair is one of the top superstars on Raw, why would you want her gone indefinitely? As a business person, I don't see that as a smart decision."

Charlotte was not only back on Raw, she was back in action, taking on Mandy Rose in singles competition. The last time Mady and Sonya were seen together, Mandy had defeated Sonya at SummerSlam 2020 and Sonya was forced to leave WWE.

But Sonya picking Mandy to face Charlotte was not personal.

"Mandy is a tough competitor and Charlotte needed an opponent. It was between Dana and Mandy, and Mandy was looking at me like she wanted to fight. She did an amazing job against Charlotte," she said before saying she has always brought the best out of Mandy.
