South Beach Strap Match Announced For 7/7 AEW Dynamite: Road Rager

Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall are set to do battle again.

On the June 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, QT Marshall interrupted Cody Rhodes' promo, taking exception with the fact that Cody said he was beaten by Anthony Ogogo last week despite the fact that Marshall was the one who pinned him. On that night, Marshall did score the pinfall, but not until Ogogo landed a knockout punch square on Cody's jaw.

QT Marshall then said that he wants to "whip Cody's ass" in front of a sold-out crowd, challenging him to a strap match on July 7. That Wednesday will mark AEW's return to touring and first show outside of Daily's Place in Jacksonville in over a year. Earlier in the night, it was announced that July 7th's show will be a special edition of Dynamite titled Road Rage.

Rhodes quickly accepted the challenge and took off his belt, insisting that they fight right then and there. Marshall eventually took a cheap shot at Arn Anderson before getting tackled by The Enforcer's son, Brock. He and Cody will team up next week, June 18, to take on Marshall and Aaron Solow.
