IMPACT Wrestling announced that Ultimate X will return at Homecoming on Jan. 6. Thus far, Jake Crist, Ethan Page, Rich Swann, and Trey Miguel have qualified for the bout. There is no word on what, if anything, will be on the line in the match, although that could be decided during IMPACT's final set of television tapings on Tuesday in Vegas. Brian Cage is the current X Division Champion.

The last Ultimate X bout took place on May 18, 2017 on an episode of IMPACT Wrestling. On that night, Low Ki defeated Andrew Everett and Trevor Lee.
