Starlight Kid & Dragon Kid vs. Maki Itoh & El Phantasmo Announced For NJPW Death Vegas Invitacional

New Japan Pro-Wrestling and El Desperado are collaborating to present NJPW Death Vegas Invitacional on April 17th at Horseshoe Las Vegas.

The first announcement for the show is Starlight Kid and Dragon Kid versus Maki Itoh and El Phantasmo. Here is NJPW’s write-up about the match:

As the standing room only Horseshoe on the Vegas strip approaches a complete sellout for Death Vegas Invitacional April 16, the first match has been revealed for what is going to be a chaotic and memorable night.

It’ll be a unique intergender tag with a family feel on April 16! In one corner will be the ‘Kid Family’ of Dragon and Starlight Kid! This masked duo first teamed together at Despe Invitacional back in June of 2024 when they defeated Mima Shimoda and El Desperado.

Fast forward two years and their opponents in Vegas will be perhaps the cutest tag team in professional wrestling: El Phantasmo and Maki Itoh! Last year, a battle of just who the cutest individual in professional wrestling was saw Ito and Phantasmo in opposite corners in Vegas, but now the two have joined forces, and will be looking to ugly up the masked faces of Dragon and Starlight Kid.

The match rules? A ‘Deadly’ Air Time & Cutie Crime High Stakes Heartbreak Jackpot Match is something we have to admit not to having seen before, but unpredictability is the name of the game for Death Vegas, so we’ll find out together April 16!
