Stephanie McMahon Says Roman Reigns Would Reject Cheap Lines To Use Against Her In Promos

As Roman Reigns was ascending up the card in 2015 and 2016, he often came face-to-face with Triple H, Vince McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon in The Authority.

Stephanie was no stranger to being an on-screen character, cutting her teeth as an authority figure in the Attitude Era, and being called every name in the book by the likes of Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, and The Rock.

On her What’s Your Story? podcast, Stephanie welcomed Roman and the two reflected on their segments together, with Stephanie saying she tried to give Roman lines that he would reject.

“When we were working together, I would try to give you cheap lines. Easy, ‘Go stay in the kitchen.’ Stereotypical-type stuff, and you never wanted to do it. I’d always be like, ‘I know it will work,’ but it was never comfortable for you to do that. I always respected so much that you wanted to do it your own way, but I felt like I couldn’t get through to you. ‘What is it I’m missing. How can I help him? How can I help get him what he wants?’ I was the heel and I wanted you to shine. ‘What can I do for him?'” Stephanie said.

Elsewhere during the interview, Roman revealed that Stephanie busted his eardrum during a slapfest. You can find his full comments here.

Reigns will face Bronson Reed at WWE Clash in Paris.
