Stephanie McMahon Talks Fan Reaction To Women's Battle Royal

Stephanie McMahon says fans did not like the name for the women's battle royal at Wrestlemania 34.

On Monday, WWE announced a women's battle royal named after historical women's wrestler the Fabulous Moolah and a portion of the fans were adamant WWE had made a mistake because of Moolah's controversial past. On Thursday, WWE changed the name to the Wrestlemania Women's Battle Royal. Stephanie McMahon told PWInsider the change happened because WWE listens to the audience.

“I love that the WWE audience expressed their opinions, whether they are positive or negative.   I think that it is our responsibility to listen to our audience and do our best to give them what they want.  Clearly, they did not want to name the Women’s Battle Royal after The Fabulous Moolah.  We were really proud that they spoke up and we were really happy to make that change,” said McMahon.

Regarding any future name changes, McMahon said WWE will keep things as they are.

“For right now, we are sticking with the Wrestlemania Battle Royal Branding,” said McMahon.
