Steve Austin Has Praise For Braun, But Predicts Brock Will Win No Mercy Match

Steve Austin thinks Brock Lesnar will retain at No Mercy, but he doesn't think the Beast should go over clean.

Braun Strowman is set to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WWE No Mercy. The two were part of the main event of WWE Summerslam in a fatal four-way match for the title, which Steve Austin has spoken highly of before. On a recent episode of The Steve Austin Show, Austin discussed the upcoming match between Strowman and Lesnar including how impressed he has been with Strowman.

Janel Grant Files Motion To Strike Vince McMahon's Preliminary Statement

"I've been high on (Strowman) ever since I had him on the podcast. That's why I wanted him on the podcast. I was down there at whatever building it was and I was talking to this guy. And I was like 'you know what? I thought this was going to be this big strong motherfucker that didn't know show.' He was very articulate and very eloquent," said Austin.

The Rattlesnake then compared Strowman to Kurt Angle in terms of adapting to professional wrestling quickly. Strowman has only wrestling for four years. He went from participating in Strongman competitions to training at the WWE Performance Center.

Despite his high praise of Strowman, Austin does not think Lesnar will lose the title at WWE No Mercy.

"In my eyes, that belt ain't going to switch hands until Wrestlemania. You don't want Brock to go over clean. By hook or by crook, something has to happen," said Austin.

Wrestlemania 34 is coincidentally when Lesnar's WWE contract is scheduled to end. Fightful Wrestling will be providing live coverage of WWE No Mercy and a recapping podcast.
