The Undertaker has been going strong in WWE for close to three decades now and though retirement has been teased a time or two, the actual end date remains a mystery.
On Chapter 3 of The Last Ride, three of Undertaker's greatest opponents discussed his struggle in finding the perfect retirement match.
"Shawn did what he did," said Steve Austin in regards to Shawn Michaels walking away after WrestleMania 26. "Taker, no pun intended, is still wrestling with it. He's been doing it for so long. It's just hard to give up the thing that you love the most."
Austin had to walk away from wrestling before his time seemed to be up due to a neck injury. But he got a fitting send-off at WrestleMania 19 against The Rock.
"It's hard to think of a storybook ending for this incredible character. But I believe there will come a time when he knows it's time to say goodbye and it'll be almost understood that we've seen the last of a true phenomenon," said Mick Foley.
Foley never got a true retirement match. He last wrestled in the 2012 Royal Rumble as a surprise entrance.
Edge said, "I want it to go right for him. To have that proper moment. I really hope he gets it. If he gets it, that he knows to take it and finally close the door."
Edge seemed to have a perfect retirement match, albeit before his time was up, defeating Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 27 before retiring due to a neck injury. However, Edge was able to get cleared and made his return at the 2020 Royal Rumble.
Undertaker last competed at WrestleMania 36, defeating AJ Styles in a Graveyard match.
