Steve Maclin Says Eric Young Is "A Ghost Who Travels Through Walls And Time."

There's showing respect and reverence to your opponent, and then there's comparing your opponent to a supernatural entity with time traveling prowess. Steve Maclin recently did the latter.

Maclin and Eric Young have been the subject of one of TNA's bloodiest feuds in recent weeks and Maclin said that, while he thinks there was still meat on the bone in the feud, his recent Dog Collar Match with Young was perfect. That's what he told Jeremy Lambert and Joel Pearl with Fightful Overbooked's In The Weeds.

During the interview, Maclin discussed a wide array of topics, but he spent significant time talking about his feud with Young. During the chat, Maclin discussed the fireside vignette that he and Young shot for the April 24 edition of TNA iMPACT. In the vignette, Young and Maclin discussed their feud and shared a drink...a drink that would come to have dire consequences for Maclin shortly thereafter. But one of the biggest questions coming out of the vignette was 'How did Eric Young even find Maclin in the first place?'

"He’s Eric Young.," Maclin laughed. "He’s a ghost who travels through walls and time. It was supposed to be a year long story that we built up and certain things changed behind the scenes and we were supposed to win the tag titles at one point. People got released and some people were leaving the company. Things changed, so it changed our entire dynamic and storyline. We wanted to have a good run with it and build that bond and brotherhood, but certain things happened and we have to change things up.

"We got to the finish we wanted with the dog collar match, which I felt was perfect for what we wanted. Would I have loved a little bit more time on pay-per-view? Yes, but I also look at the outcome and response online with the amount of blood and also getting more eyes on the TNA app for TNA iMPACT! That means way more to me now, getting more eyes on the show every Thursday night and viewership that way than it is sometimes on a pay-per-view because it’s a main event, people will always remember it, it’s on the TNA+ app for reruns and you can go on Instagram and see posts of me all bloody."

Eric Young might go down as one of Steve Maclin's greatest opponents. Most recently, Maclin defended the TNA International Championship against Eric Young in a bloody, violent, dog collar match. To read more about that match, click here.

Maclin is currently scheduled to pariticpate in the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation's T2T Tower Climb on June 1, 2025. The climb, according to the T2T website, is the "only opportunity for the public to ascend 104 stories—or 2,226 steps—from the basement to the finish line on the 102nd floor."

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was designed to tell the story of Stephen Siller.

According to the T2T website, Siller was "A NYC firefighter who was off duty during 9/11, he drove his truck to the entrance of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, strapped his 60lbs of gear on his back and by foot ran through the tunnel to the Twin Towers where he ultimately lost his life.

"Started by his brother Frank, T2T helps support our nations heroes and their families by paying off mortgages and/or providing mortgage-free homes for families of fallen first responders, especially those with young children.

"More recently, T2T has expanded its work and is building smart homes for injured veterans and first responders. They have begun buying properties across the country to build “Veterans Villages” where they will house homeless veterans and provide supportive services to get these heroes back on their feet. Villages are currently being built across the country in places like Atlanta, GA, Bradenton, FL, Memphis, TN, Harrisburg, PA, Detroit, MI, and Las Vegas, NV, just to name a few. "

Maclin, a former Marine, filmed a commercial back in October, professing his support of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
