Steve 'Mongo' McMichael Hospitalized Due To UTI, Set To Return Home

Best wishes to Steve "Mongo" McMichael, as he has been hospitalized.

On April 3, Jarrett Payton took to Twitter/X to state that the McMichael family was asking for prayers, as Steve was hospitalized on Wednesday. Payton wrote that "Mongo" was undergoing tests, and he would update everyone once more information became available.

Payton later announced that McMichael had a urinary tract infection, and he would be going home that night.

McMichael previously returned home after he was hospitalized with suspected pneumonia on February 15. He then got a blood transfusion and battled MRSA. Additionally, McMichael is battling against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

In the wrestling world, McMichael had a memorable run as a member of the Four Horsemen in WCW, and he is a former WCW United States Champion. He also had a successful football career; he won a Super Bowl while playing for the 1985-1986 Chicago Bears.
