Swerve Strickland: Athena Is My Favorite Women’s Wrestler Right Now
Swerve Strickland shows some love to women’s wrestling.
Strickland has never been shy when it comes to giving people their flowers. In a new interview with Black Couch Wrestling, the ‘Mogul’ was asked to name three of his favorite female performers.
“Athena is my number one. Athena is a dog. She’s one of my favorite matches, she’s probably one of my favorite people I’ve ever wrestled, man or woman. We had a match in REVOLVER, shoutout Sami Callihan for making that match happen. Funny enough, that match was actually supposed to be me and Ruby Riott. It was supposed to be me and Ruby, I think she had to pull out, I forget the reason why. But it ended up being a replacement with Athena and we ended up tearing the house down.”
After giving some love to Athena, Swerve made sure to celebrate Mercedes Mone and Bianca Belair as well.
“Mercedes number two for sure and Bianca.”
