Swerve Strickland says that he and The New Level can build up multiple divisions while still being in a trio.
To kick off AEW All In yesterday the Trios roulette match would be contested, with the AEW Trios titles on the line. There would be one wildcard team, that would end up being Swerve Strickland teamed up with The New Level (Austin Creed and Kofi), with the trio going on to score the victory and bring home the championships in London.
While speaking during a new interview following AEW All In with Rich Latta, Swerve Strickland would discuss winning the titles at All In.
“Trios champ is awesome. It’s even better for the people that I took it away from. Mr. Hangman Page, Mr. Bandido, Mr. Brody King, all my opps.”
Strickland would also discuss the trio’s mission statement, with Swerve noting that they will be looking to elevate more than just the trios division simultaneously.
“Well, first of all, we just wanted to make a statement. You know, if I was going to jump into the trios division, I wanted to make a statement with something new, fresh, and refreshing for those guys as well. Cause them guys have done it all in the business. They’ve been at the top level, but now they’re going to the highest level, the highest level that you can go. You know, there’s new levels to this whole game and we’re about to show the world that, there’s way more that we can do with just like three guys in the trios division. We can really build up multiple divisions, still being in a trio, still being successful together, and it’s something new and it’s something I’m always been a keen on giving people. They didn’t know it’s what they wanted until they see it. So all those things got accomplished tonight, and then, honestly, this is honestly my first Wembley win, too. So we got that accomplished, too.”
