A pair of number one contenders matches are set to kick off NXT UK's slate in 2022.
During the 12/16 broadcast of NXT UK it was announced that Symbiosis will take on Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter on the 1/6 edition of NXT UK and Die Familie will face Jack Starz and Dave Mastiff on 1/13 with the winners facing each other on 1/20 to determine the number one contenders for Mustache Mountain's NXT UK tag team championships.
Assistant to the NXT UK General Manager, Sid Scale made the two bouts official, making the following announcement.

Tyler Bate and Trent Seven (Mustache Mountain) defeated Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker of Pretty Deadly to capture the NXT UK tag titles on the 12/9 episode of NXT UK.
