TAELER: Big Swole vs. Hikaru Shida Taking Center Stage

Recently on All Elite Wrestling's Twitter was the announcement that the AEW Women's Championship Title will be on the line this week on AEW Dynamite! Champion Hikaru Shida will be defending her title against the challenger Big Swole! AEW also made another special announcement. In honor of celebrating their one year anniversary, this week's anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite will have fans seeing all the championships being defended.

I have to say, AEW has been lighting it up in their Women's Division and the likes of Hikaru Shida and Big Swole are no exception. Heading into this week's episode, it will be very interesting to see how Big Swole approaches her opportunity to capture AEW Gold and wear it around her waist. Its arguably one of the biggest opportunities of her career as she squares off against AEW's longest reigning Women's Champion - Hikaru Shida.

WWE SmackDown (4/19/2024) Results: Bayley vs Naomi, LA Knight vs AJ Styles, The Bloodline, AOP, More

Both ladies have proved themselves outside the company and simulated within the AEW Womens division at least 10x. Explosive. Methodical. Versatile. Entertaining. Both ladies are amidst some of the best work of their careers since being with AEW. After personally seeing Big Swole's Pro Wrestling debut and through onto today, in my opinion you'd be hard up to find a better role model to sign to your company and/or cheer for on your T.V.! In just a short five years in the business, Big Swole has worked hard for each and every opportunity which has led her to spots on Monday Night Raw, Shimmer, Rise, the Mae Young Classic, all over the Independents, and signing with AEW. As a talent and person, she's a credit to her training.

With that said, Hikaru Shida is quite literally a highly successful world traveled competitor. As the current and longest reigning AEW Women's Champion thus far, Hikaru Shida has proven for more than 145 days that she is the current gold standard. The standard to which Big Swole will need to aspire to and overcome in order to add her name to the list of AEW Women's Champions. For a little over twelve years Hikaru Shida has been amassing a long list of accomplishments to her name.

From Japan, to The U.S, and Mexico, Shida has gained skill and expertise that will inevitably come into play on this week's celebratory anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite! I'm curious to see the approach each competitor will take against the other. Both ladies at the top of their game and not letting up anytime soon. This will be the perfect opportunity for Swole to secure herself some Championship gold and her own spot in the AEW history books! Either say you flip the coin, the goal is the same - being the AEW Women's Champion. One looking to dethrone the longest reigning champion and the other looking to decimate the competition and leave with their reign intact.

Tickets are on sale now with limitations as AEW adheres to the pre-set Covid 19 safety measures. Be sure to catch this episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT 8/7c where for the first time ever you'll see all four titles on the line and defended including Champion Hikaru Shida versus Challenger Big Swole!
