Lio Rush has had an amazingly busy year and a half. New music as a recording artist. A new healthy baby added to his growing family with his wife. Rush's MLW debut which resulted in his ending Myron Reed's record breaking MLW Middleweight Title run. To then see himself as MLW Middleweight Championship. Not to mention his debut and subsequent matches for New Japan Pro Wrestling. And now his long awaited and far overdue AEW debut…
At AEW Double or Nothing live on PPV, fans tuned in and saw the return of the AEW signature feature match - The AEW Men's Casino Battle Royale! Twenty plus men all entered into a round robin style battle royal. All with the same goal. All vying for the chance to win the ultimate prize, the number one contender position as it relates to the AEW World Championship. Twenty men entered all wanting to elevate themselves towards AEW gold. But, there could only be one winner…
As it would happen, this would be where Lio Rush would make his live AEW debut. Making his rounds as a talent count all over the world, in my opinion, it was only a matter of time before he would get on his way to AEW. And that time finally came by way of the Men's Casino Battle Royale. Albeit, begrudgingly, it was over too soon. However, I do hope we see still get to see a well-deserved continuation of RUSH Hour in AEW. With Jungle Boy mainstay featured AEW talent outlasting all other competitors in the Casino Battle Royale to become the Number One Contender for the coveted AEW World Championship, I can't help but notice that Lio Rush would be a great fit amongst the plethora of talent currently being showcased at AEW. Only time will tell…
