This Friday on AEW Rampage fans will be tuning in to see several high profile bouts leading towards AEW Full Gear. One such bout is representing the AEW Women's Division by way of Abadon and Brit Baker. On Rampage Abadon will be taking on the AEW Women's World Champion, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD. The two will collide in what's being called a Trick-or-Treat match. The trick? It's a No DQ match. The treat? If Abadon wins, she gets her own shot at the AEW Women's World Championship and subsequently a shot a stripping Britt Baker of her AEW gold.
The match was recently made by AEW GM, Tony Khan after some questionable tactics were used by the AEW Women's Champion. While on the Jericho Cruise Britt Baker basically walked out of the match she was having with Abadon. Much to the chagrin of Baker and utter delight of Abadon, the GM noticed and he decided to do something about it, a Trick-or-Treat match! Righting the wrong and presenting an all together more interesting opportunity amidst the struggle going on in the division as competitors battle it out in the TBS Championship Tournament brackets. And it's clear that Britt Baker will not be the only AEW Champion getting surprised ahead of Full Gear…
The Trick-or-Treat match announcement was clearly not a welcome one in the eyes of Britt Baker who is already set for an intense championship bout at AEW Full Gear against number one contender, Tay Conti. Britt Baker is definitely feeling the heat as the current reigning and defending AEW Women's World Champion. With AEW Full Gear less than three weeks away Britt Baker will not be the only AEW Champion trying to make it there unscathed. Between the TBS Championship Tournament heading into the semifinals and the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament entering its own semifinals, factions colliding, and now this Trick-or-Treat match…
I think it's safe to say that all of the AEW Divisions are definitely heating up and feeling the pressure and not just the Women's Division. After all, November 13th isn't all that far away. Several titles will be on the line at Full Gear and the time between now and the PPV is looming large over all of the AEW competitors. If Britt Baker loses the Trick-or-Treat match she could wind up in serious jeopardy with her title on the line sooner than her bout at Full Gear against Tay Conti. If Bryan Danielson succeeds in beating Kingston to advance to the semifinals then he could perhaps be the biggest threat to date for Kenny Omega and his title. Violence is imminent. Everyone is looking for the proverbial leg up on the competition. Who wouldn't want to end the year sporting some AEW gold? With Full Gear almost halfway into November, it stands to reason that anyone who is champion at that time has a pretty good chance of holding onto their titles into January 2022.
Tune in to AEW Rampage this Friday. See Bryan Danielson versus Eddie Kingston in their semifinals bout as well as whatever Britt Baker has in store for Abadon with Rebel and Hayter not too far behind. This No DQ could quite possibly favor the trio over the challenger, but then again, an equalizer in the form of Tay Conti wouldn't be unexpected. Who will be the AEW Women's World Champion walking into AEW Full Gear? Will Kenny Omega defeat Hangman Page at Full Gear to retain his prestigious AEW World Title? Will the Lucha Bros come to regret putting their AEW Tag Team Titles on the line in their challenge to FTR at Full Gear? Who will win in the Minneapolis Street Fight? Inner Circle or American Top Team? Will Darby Allin be the one to silence MJF permanently at Full Gear? Don't miss AEW Rampage as the company gears up and gets another step closer to AEW Full Gear live from Minneapolis on November 13th!
