Matt Hardy ever the transcendent superstar found himself trending on social media once again. Tuesday night people took to social media to show their cumulative surprised elation as Matt Hardy accompanied Private Party on two programs. Impact Wrestling and then on AEW Dynamite. The rush of attention amassed to ultimately see Matt Hardy as a trending topic in combat sports on Twitter. Hardy and Private Party appeared on both IMPACT Wrestling on AXS T.V., and will be on AEW Dynamite. Matt Hardy's intrusion on IMPACT however was not met with excitement by the IMPACT Stars.
The arrival of Matt Hardy and Private Party's Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen was met with chagrin. James Storm, MCMG, and the Good Brothers were not at all enthused. Despite the cold welcome, Matt Hardy's newest character Iconic Big Money Matt is quite honestly pure excellence. His new role with Private Party is not only comedic gold, but also in my opinion, a high level of an almost tangible charismatic cocky arrogance. A boastfully cheeky level of wit and intellect worthy of the legendary Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig or even Rick Rude. As a Wrestler in the business, and an avid fan of Tag Team Wrestling, in my mind, Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen were the perfect team to pair with Hardy. Especially with this gimmick. Ingenious booking.
As the night unfolded on IMPACT, this aforementioned ingenious pairing would challenge Storm and MCMG with Jerry Lynn and AEW Owner Tony Khan were ringside to bear witness. Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen with a key assist gained an impressive win amidst their debut. And thus the crossover has officially begun. Private Party with Matt Hardy will go on advancing as the new number one contenders for the IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Championship Titles. Titles currently held and coveted by The Good Brothers. Long time friends of the current AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega who has also recently crossed over into IMPACT.
This week's episode of IMPACT on AXS continues the rising upward trend in viewership ratings for IMPACT. The feat Matt Hardy boldly attributes to himself, the second best best Tag Team of all time Private Party, and the best wrestling product today - All Elite Wrestling. Whether you hate to love him or love to hate him, Iconic Big Money Matt is throwing off some serious Rick Rude - Mr. Perfect - Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase vibes. And it is big money!
Matt Hardy is personifying the cliche phrase 'put your money where your mouth is.' Or rather Private Party's money? Either way, Matt Hardy is most assuredly taking Private Party and fans on an entertaining ride. A complete departure from his prior DELETE gimmick. He's talking the talk and walking that proverbial walk. The trending nor the result lie. Matt Hardy and Private Party certainly made an impact. Yes, pun intended. And so continues the evolving invasion of AEW and IMPACT on AXS T.V…
