Taichi To Defend KOPW Title In Whiskey Bottle Ladder Match At 12/21 NJPW Road To Tokyo Dome

Whiskey Bottle Ladder match is official.

NJPW announced that Taichi will defend his King of Pro Wrestling Title against Yoshinobu Kanemaru in a Whiskey Bottle Ladder match at the December 21 NJPW Road to Tokyo Dome.

The fans voted the match, which was Taichi's choice, over Kanemaru's choice of Corner pad removal, low blows legal for Kanemaru.

Voting took place over the weekend for Thursday’s final defence of the KOPW2023 Championship, Taichi putting his provisional status on the line against Yoshinobu Kanemaru. 21,563 votes were cast online over the last three days with the results as follows:

Taichi: Whiskey Bottle Ladder Match- 15,103 votes: (70%)

Kanemaru: Corner pad removal, low blows legal for Kanemaru: 6460 (30%)

December 21’s Korakuen Hall match will take place under Whiskey Bottle Ladder Match rules. A whiskey bottle will be hung from the ceiling, and the wrestler who retrieves it will be able to use the bottle and its contents as a weapon.

Fightful will have results from NJPW Road to Tokyo Dome following the conclusion of the event.
