Taiji Ishimori Defending IWGP Junior Title At G1 Supercard; Dragon Lee Steps Up As A Challenger

"The Bone Solider" paves his way to Madison Square Garden.

The current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori defeated Jushin Thunder Liger at New Japan Pro Wrestling's 47th Anniversary Show today to retain the belt. After the match, Ishimori picked up a microphone and made it clear that he wants to defend his Junior Heavyweight Title at New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Honor's G1 Supercard show on April 6th inside of what will be a sold-out Madison Square Garden.

Ishimori issued the challenge to anyone from Ring Of Honor but out came the current CMLL World Lightweight Champion Dragon Lee who has competed in ROH in the past. Lee told Ishimori that he'd gladly accept the challenge and although the match has not been made official, Taiji Ishimori will defend his title at G1 Supercard.

There are currently two matches slated for the April 6th MSG show as Jay White is defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against the winner of the New Japan Cup. Also, both the IWGP Tag Titles and ROH World Tag Team Titles will be on the line when the IWGP Tag Team Champions The Guerrillas Of Destiny meet either The Briscoes or PCO and Brody King. That will be finalized at Ring Of Honor's 17th Anniversary pay-per-view where Mark and Jay are set to defend the ROH World Tag Team Championships against PCO and Brody King.
