TAKA Michinoku Dismissed As K-DOJO Director Following Cheating Scandal

Cheating doesn't pay.

On Monday, news broke (via Yahoo Japan) that TAKA Michinoku had been having an affair on his wife. This is a much bigger deal in Japan than it is America due to the cultural differences. In Japan, family honor is more valued. As punishment for his infidelity, Kaientai Dojo (K-DOJO) announced that TAKA has been removed as K-DOJO director and board member. He will remain as the owner, but his pay has been suspended until October 2019.

TAKA is currently part of the NJPW roster where he serves as a member of the Suzuki-gun stable and advocate for Zack Sabre Jr. He is not currently booked for the World Tag League tour, which runs from Nov. 17 to Dec. 9. Michinoku is a former WWF/WWE Light Heavyweight and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion.

In 2014, former NEVER Openweight Champion Taichi was caught having an affair. As a result, he was suspended for two months and had his wages cut substantially during the time.

NJPW and TAKA have yet to issue a statement on the matter.
