Tama Tonga is no longer a free agent.
On February 6, Tama tweeted "I am a free agent since January 30, 2022" but used the hashtag #misinformation, leading to some confusion as to whether or not the tweet was true.
On the latest Tama's Island, he cleared up the confusion by saying that he was a free agent on January 30, but his free agency period did not last very long.
"It's true. I was a free agent on January 30. I am now officially signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling," he said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Tama has been with NJPW since 2010.
He's currently active in IMPACT Wrestling where he's teaming with Tanga Loa and feuding with THe Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson). The two teams are set to collide at IMPACT No Surrender.
