Taz Requested Hardcore Hall Of Fame Ceremony Be Moved Off TV As To Not Take Time From The Wrestlers

AEW honored Taz before AEW Dynamite went on the air on Wednesday in a Hardcore Hall of Fame ceremony, putting a banner up at the 2300 Arena (formerly the ECW Arena).

Tony Khan originally announced the ceremony for AEW Collision, but it was moved to Dynamite at Taz’ request so more of his family could be there. He then requested it be moved off TV as to not take time from the current talent.

“as per my request no need to have it on tv. We have lots of current in ring wrestlers that should get the tv time…this isn’t about me, it’s 2025…I been retired for years. I do not want or need anyones tv time. Not how I’m wired,” wrote Taz.

In replying to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, who disagreed with Taz that the ceremony shouldn’t be on TV, Taz wrote, “So you are disagreeing with they would call “my moment” and how I prefer to have it done? Haha…come on! People watching programming much different than years ago. People can still see it. It’s all online…I NEVER want to take tv time from anyone that’s still bumping or younger than me…that’s just how I feel for a long time…and that ain’t changing. No ego or insecurities for me!”

The banner in the 2300 Arena honoring Taz was shown on AEW Dynamite.
