Jade Cargill will defend the TBS Championship at AEW All Out.
On the August 26 episode of AEW Rampage, Cargill cut a promo backstage and told Athena to "get these hands" at AEW All Out. The latter blindsided the champion with an attack and seemingly accepted the challenge in the process. The broadcast team subsequently confirmed the match for the pay-per-view.

Cargill is the inaugural champion; she won the tournament to determine the first champion on the January 5 episode of AEW Dynamite. Her undefeated streak in singles matches recently surpassed 500 days. Meanwhile, Athena has had her sights set on Cargill since she debuted at AEW Double or Nothing, and she has been feuding with the champion ever since. The rivalry reached a new level on the August 19 episode of AEW Rampage when Cargill attacked Athena with a sledgehammer.
