Ted DiBiase Comments On Ric Flair AEW's Signing, Lovingly Calls Him 'The Boy Who Refuses To Grow Up'

Ted DiBiase gives his thoughts on Ric Flair's signing with AEW.

Ric Flair recently signed a multi-year agreement with All Elite Wrestling and many in the wrestling world have weighed in on the move. Ted DiBiase is the latest of Flair's 1980s wrestling contemporaries to comment on Flair's latest chapter in his wrestling career.

Speaking in an exclusive YouTube clip of his Everybody's Got A Pod podcast, DiBiase touched on his relationship with Flair and lovingly called him a boy who won't grow up.

DiBiase also remarked that he stopped wrestling at the age of 40. He had his final WWE match 30 years ago at WWE SummerSlam when he faced Scott "Razor Ramon" Hall, in what would be Scott Hall's first win on WWE pay-per-view.

"Gosh, I love Ric. Ric, without a doubt, is one of the greatest that we've ever had. He could do anything in the ring, but he's also, and I've said this before, but I want to say it as — if Ric could hear me say it, I would say it lovingly. He's like the little boy who doesn't want to grow up. He just never wants it to end. I get that, too, I understand, but, man, your body is only going to last so long," said DiBiase. "God bless him for even having the heart to continue in any way. You know, I was 40. That was 30 years ago. When I physically stopped, I was right at 40, '93-early '94.

"Again, sincerely, my hats off to you, brother if you can keep going," Ted adds. "He keeps himself in pretty good shape. He's in the gym more regularly than I am, that's for sure."

Kevin Sullivan was a little bit more direct in his comments about Ric Flair potentially wrestling again, saying that he hopes it never happens because he doesn't want to see anything tragic happen in the ring. Read his comments here.

Fightful Select recently uncovered more information regarding Ric Flair's AEW deal, revealing that AEW's sponsorship deal from Flair's "Wooooo! Energy" energy drinks is providing enough money to practically cover Ric's AEW deal. Read more here.
