Tessa Blanchard: Magnum T.A. Told Me I Wasn't Good, But I Had "It"

Tessa Blanchard has always had "it."

Blanchard's roots in wrestling run deep. She's the daughter of the legendary Tully Blanchard and the stepdaughter of Magnum T.A. The current Knockouts Champion was destined for success the moment she decided she was going to be a professional wrestler. But, like most wrestlers, she wasn't all that good when she first started training.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Blanchard revealed what her stepfather said to her the first time he saw her wrestle.

"I reached out to my stepdad [Magnum T.A.], who I hadn't talked to in a year," said Tessa. "I told him, 'Hey, I'm training to wrestle now, I would love it if you came and checked it out. It was about 20 minutes from where they lived at the time. I'm not really sure if they took me seriously or not or if it was something I was trying out. Not next week, but the week after, he ended up showing up with my little brother. I was in the ring with Cedric Alexander and I saw them come in and I was like, 'Hell yeah.' We were in there and doing our thing and I was so comfortable in the ring with Cedric. Afterwards, my stepdad rolled up to the turnbuckle and he was like, 'Tessa, you're not good, but you have it. Now you have to go out there and become undeniable.'"

Blanchard has taken that advice to heart and goes out to prove that she is "undeniable" every time she steps in the ring. She's adopted the motto and made it part of her character. She's been the star of IMPACT Wrestling since making her debut on Apr. 22 at Redemption. She recently defended the Knockouts Championship against Taya Valkyrie at Bound For Glory.
