Tetsuya Naito Overcomes Chris Jericho At Wrestle Kingdom 13; Wins IWGP IC Title

Tetsuya Naito finally got his revenge on Chris Jericho, defeating the man who has haunted him for the last year to win the IWGP Intercontinental Title at Wrestle Kingdom 13.

Both men promised to end the career of the other, setting the stage for a fight more than a wrestling match. The bout was changed to a No DQ match just 24 hours prior to their showdown. Naito gave Jericho a taste of his own medicine to start the contest, attacking the IWGP IC Champion from behind. The two men brawled around ringside and Naito took a nasty spike DDT on a table. Kendo sticks, chairs, an exposed turnbuckle and the IC Title were introduced throughout the bout. Jericho locked Naito in the Walls of Jericho multiple times and hit two Codebreakers, but Naito would not stay down.
