The Godfather: I’ve Been On A WWE Legends Contract Since 2003, There’s Nobody Else That’s Been On It That Long

The Godfather says he’s been under a Legends contract since 2003.
In 2002, The Godfather retired from being a full-time WWE superstar. The next year, he signed a Legends deal with WWE. Since then, he’s made several appearances on WWE programming.
Speaking with Rewind Recap Relive, The Godfather discussed fans lining up to see him at conventions despite not being active full-time for 23 years.
“I’m still doing these conventions and these signings because it’s still in demand. People want to talk about the Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango, The Nation of Domination, and they always want to talk about Godfather. It’s pretty cool that people still remember. I was out of there in 2003, so that’s 23 years I’ve been out of wrestling. I still have lines, dude. It’s crazy, it’s humbling, it’s cool. But I never expected that 23 years out of the business, I’m still signing autographs and I’m in demand.”
The WWE Hall of Famer also said that he has been under a Legends contract with WWE since 2003, which is the longest time among all those on it.
“Another thing is, they started a Legends contract in the WWE in 2003, the same year that I left. I have been on it continuously since 2003, and there’s nobody else that’s been on it that long.”
Elsewhere in the interview, The Godfather discussed only having one win against The Undertaker. Fans can read more about it here.
