The Rock Details Losing 50 Pounds For ‘Lizard Music,’ Injuries From ‘Smashing Machine’

The Rock is at his lowest weight since high school and he’s feeling good.

In a new Instagram video, The Rock revealed that he currently weighs 235 pounds, which is the lowest he’s been since his senior year in high school.

He’s dropped 50 pounds for his upcoming role in “Lizard Music,” where he plays a 70-year-old man.

Rock said he was 282 pounds when he started filming “The Smashing Machine,” which he had to maintain for three and a half months. He then went directly into filming live-action “Moana” and continued to carry the weight because Maui is a chunky guy.

In the video, Rock reveals that he injured his calf and elbow on “The Smashing Machine,” where he played MMA fighter Mark Kerr. He previously revealed he suffered a concussion while filming.

He then detailed his process for losing weight over the last year and a half, saying it was a lot of trial and error, but he found the right regimen.

“At this current weight and body composition, I’ve never felt better – strength, endurance, cardiovascular, metabolic health, inflammation, joints, insulin sensitivity, stress hormones, immune function, incredible pumps etc,” he said.
