The Rock To Star As Motorcycle Stuntman With Dementia In ‘Free Byrd’

The Rock lands a new movie role.

Variety is reporting that Dwayne Johnson will star as a motorcycle stuntman with dementia in a new action/drama film titled ‘Free Byrd’. The movie will be produced by Artists Equity, a company owned by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Directorial duties will be handled by Greg Kwedar, who directed the 2024 film ‘Sing Sing’.

The outlet also provided a brief plot synopsis:

“Free Byrd” stars Johnson as a Las Vegas motorcycle stuntman who conceals his dementia diagnosis from everyone, including his mechanic brother, as he risks everything on one last jump. The film, the official logline explains, “examines and confronts the mind’s vast mysteries and the beauty and power of asking for help before it’s too late.”

Before ‘Free Byrd’, Johnson has a slew of upcoming films like the live-action ‘Moana’, ‘Jumanji: Open World’, and ‘Lizard Music’.

Back in June, Rock spoke about missing out on an Oscar nomination for ‘The Smashing Machine’. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
