The Young Bucks Reflect On Watching Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega At AEW All In: Texas

Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson reflect on watching two of their friends, Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega, go to war one more time at AEW All In: Texas.

The Young Bucks, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson, have been ringside for many matches between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada. Omega and Okada last clashed at AEW All In: Texas. The match crowned Okada as the inaugural AEW Unified Champion. Now, Matt and Nick Jackson are reflecting on their history with both of the top wrestlers.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Nick Jackson reflected on how nervous and excited he was for the first Omega vs. Okada match on American soil.

“I was as nervous watching them perform almost as much as my own match,” said Nick Jackson. “I’m not even sure why–maybe it had to do with not being able to be ringside for this one like we were in all the other matches. We were so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to watch them wrestle together again. Who knows if that was the last time? I’m just happy we got to see it happen.”

Matt Jackson echoed his brother’s sentiments, remarking that the most recent Okada vs. Omega match made him profoundly emotional.

“It was a bit surreal watching a match I’d only ever seen in Japan take place on American soil,” said Matt Jackson. “Their matches really helped build the revolution of what ended up being AEW.

“Watching them do the dance, possibly for the last time, was a reminder to me of my own career and my own mortality,” he added. “Seeing some of the guys around me that I traveled up and down the roads with now retiring, or moving on to different roles, and then watching two of the all-time greats put together what felt like an epilogue made me ask myself, where does the time go? That made me more profoundly emotional than I ever would’ve imagined.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Matt Jackson spoke about his relationship with Adam Page. Read more here.
