Thekla Defeats Kris Statlander To Become New AEW Women’s World Champion On AEW Dynamite

Thekla shocks the world.

Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite was capped off with some exciting action in the women’s division, as Kris Statlander defended the AEW Women’s World Championship against Thekla in a Strap Match.

In a shocking result, Thekla was able to unseat Statlander and win the AEW Women’s World Championship. The finish of the match involved both Skye Blue and Julia Hart, as they ran down to the ring to slow down Statlander.

With the momentary distraction, Thekla was able to nail Statlander with a spear. Then, Thekla crushed Statlander with a curb stomp to win the match.

This is Thekla’s first championship win in AEW. On the other hand, Statlander’s reign with the AEW Women’s World Championship comes to an end at the 145 day mark. She won the title at the All Out pay-per-view in 2025.
