Thekla Doesn’t Think Kris Statlander Did Anything To Deserve A Title Shot At AEW Revolution

Thekla doesn’t think very highly of her AEW Revolution match.
Sunday’s pay-per-view will feature Thekla defending her AEW Women’s World Championship against Kris Statlander. This will be a two-out-of-three falls match.
Speaking with The Takedown on Sports Illustrated for a new interview, Thekla noted that she doesn’t think Statlander did anything to deserve the match.
“About that match, I just want to say a side note, that has been decided by Tony Khan. Nobody has talked to me about that. I have not said yes, I don’t think that she did anything to deserve it. So, we’ll have to talk about that next week.”
Speaking about her current run, Thekla talked about her current mindset as a top star in women’s wrestling.
“Other than that, yeah, of course, now that I’ve accepted that it’s just about me and me having fun. I feel like I can go forever. But also, I just started, so let’s see how I feel about it in half a year or something. I know for a fact that I bring something different and new to the company. Let’s see how that feels in half a year or a year. This is not my first rodeo, baby. I’m ready to go.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Thekla revealed that she’s a “massive control freak”. Check out her full comments by clicking here.
