On the February 11th edition of AEW Dynamite, Kris Statlander would defend her AEW Women’s World Title against the Austrian talent, with a strap match stipulation also featuring as part of the bout. Thekla would shockingly score the victory, capturing her first piece of championship gold in All Elite Wrestling.

While speaking to The Sportster in a new interview, Thekla spoke about how she breaks people’s spirits so that they can grow and that her viciousness doesn’t come from a bad place.

“I break people’s spirits to actually help them grow. My viciousness and my evilness don’t come from a bad place, I’d like to say. I actually help people get to their next level, and I think Kris was going through a phase where she didn’t see it. She said it in many interviews. She doesn’t know. She hasn’t figured out who she is. She hasn’t figured out what she wants. She did not know how to carry herself as a champion. I don’t think I have that problem at all. I know exactly how to carry a belt. I know exactly who I am, and maybe the way facing me also maybe helps her get closer to finding out who she is. I love that for her.”

Thekla recently defended her title for the first time against Thunder Rosa, which you can read more about here.
