Thunder Rosa Comments On The Young Talents In MPW And Them Learning The Business

Thunder Rosa is thrilled to see the success of talents who have come through Mission Pro Wrestling (MPW).

La Mera Mera recently sat down with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp and spoke about her promotion, MPW. The AEW star said that she wants to help as many young talents as possible succeed and added that they want to put people in the best situation possible to accentuate their strengths.

"We’re really happy for them because I think if they succeed, I succeed too," Thunder Rosa began by saying. "I wanna make sure that in the future that I help as many deserving young talent as I can. We are doing our best to see and to watch tape to make sure that people are being booked for the right reasons. That we’re giving them that platform where they can perform the way they will never be able to because I know a lot of people are watching our stuff. Especially having them in Title Match Network. We are the most-watched show in the network and they have almost two million viewers. So, that’s pretty awesome. Even the guys, I was talking about this in my show the other day, the guys are being booked, too. So, it’s good things. I’m hoping in the future we develop more people and they’ll be able to get more platforms in different places."

MPW launched just over one year ago and, as Thunder Rosa said, has become one of the top shows on the Title Match Network.

Wrestling, however, is more than what happens inside the ring. For young talents, it's important to learn the business behind the business. According to Thunder Rosa, that aspect of their education remains a work in progress, but names Holidead and Jennacide as two talents that have the firmest grasp of that facet of the profession, thus far. She added the following:

"From talent, not quite yet. I think a lot of the talent are very, very young. If they are business-minded, I would say probably Holidead and Jennacide are the ones who are the most because they’re some of the oldest—and La Rosa Negra, of course, who is running the women’s division in Puerto Rico from a new place they just created. So those are the ones I see with intentions of doing different things that are not so related to the ring."

Thunder Rosa made her AEW debut in August 2020 while she was still a member of the NWA's roster. Despite not being signed by the company, she would continue to be a regular, even appearing in the first Women's Division main event of Dynamite on March 17, 2021. Rosa was officially signed to a full-time deal with AEW in July 2021.

Rosa featured prominently at AEW's All Out, making it to the final two of the Casino Battle Royale before being eliminated by the debuting Ruby Soho. In the time since then, she has picked up consecutive victories on both AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation, boosting her spot in the rankings and bringing her ever closer to another shot at Dr. Britt Baker and the AEW Women's World Championship.

Fightful provides live coverage of AEW Dynamite and Rampage every Wednesday and Friday night as well as results from Dark and Elevation on Mondays and Tuesdays.
