Title Changes At NXT Takeover: Toronto

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are the new NXT Tag Team Champions, and Samoa Joe has regained the NXT Championship. 

The duo, known as DIY, defeated former champions The Revival at NXT Takeover: Toronto in a two-out-of-three-falls match to capture the titles.

The Revival's latest reign ended at 164 days, two longer than their first, which started in October 2015. Overall, it was the third longest in the title's history, and their combined reign is second only to the Ascension. Dash and Dawson thus far are the only two-time NXT tag champions.

Wilder and Ciampa exchange forearms in the center of the ring then Dawson gets tagged in, Gargano getting tagged in then hits a springboard DDT for a very close 2 count. The Revival hit a superkick German suplex combo for a very close 2 count that Ciampa breaks up then Dawson sends Ciampa to the outside. Dawson gets tagged in then Gargano hits both members of The Revival repeatedly with forearms then Gargano rolls Dawson up for a close 2 count. Ciampa sends Wilder over the top rope then Gargano kicks a belt that Wilder brought into the ring when he tries to kick Dawson. Dawson puts an inverted figure four on Gargano who just barely gets to the ropes. Wilder gets tagged in then Wilder superkicks Dawson before #DIY hit a Shatter Machine of their own for a very close 2 count that Dawson breaks up. Dawson gets a very close 2 count, but the referee calls him out for holding the tights then Gargano sends Dawson to the outside. Wilder and Gargano try at least five pinning attempts then #DIY put a double submission on The Revival and both are forced to tap out for the final fall.

Winner: #DIY 2-1 via submission

Elsewhere, Samoa Joe became the first ever two-time NXT Champion by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura. You can see an excerpt from our live coverage below.

Shinsuke goes for it again and Joe puts the Kokina Clutch on, but Shinsuke gets out and Joe hits a German suplex into a Dragon suplex then a straight jacket suplex for a very close 2 count. Joe is cut above the nose as he grabs Shinsuke and goes into the ropes before Shinsuke hits a Kinashasa to the back of his head, sending Joe to the outside. Shinsuke goes for a Kinshasa on the outside, but Joe hits a low blow then Joe hits a uranagi on the steps before hitting the Muscle Buster for the pin and the win.

Winner: Samoa Joe via pinfall with the Muscle Buster
