Titus O’Neil Wants To Pattern His Hollywood Career After Dave Bautista

Dave Bautista is one of the most successful wrestling to Hollywood crossover stars, shwoing his range in a variety of movies from “Dune” to “Guardians of the Galaxy” to “Blade Runner 2049.”

Titus O’Neil is longtime friends with Bautista, and he’s hoping to travel a similar road.

“He is a brother to me. I just texted with him two days ago. He’s been overseas in London shooting a movie for the past several months and he’ll be over there a little while longer. He told me he was coming home in a couple of weeks, so I’ll get a chance to see him and spend time with him then,” Titus told TMZ.

Speaking about Hollywood, Titus said, “Everyone always asks me, because I want to go into this space of Hollywood, who I want to pattern my career after or take the most advice from, and it would be Dave simply because we have very similar upbringings. We were raised by single mothers, we genuinely have a love for people as a whole. He’s one of the most authentic people you’ll ever meet, and he’s consistent about it. Long before I became a WWE superstar, me and Dave were friends. Dave is an uncle to my children. They text with him. He bought my youngest son a Rolex as a graduation gift. I say I want to pattern his route because he’s challenged himself to play such different characters in different films. He is an actor, a real actor, and not a character. I want to be viewed as an actor. I don’t want to be pigeonholed as the bodyguard or tough guy. I want to be able to show range and tell stories. I know for a fact that I’m going to have that opportunity here coming up, but I want to have more opportunities to be not only what I believe I can be in the Hollywood space, but also continue to build this legacy and build a platform to help others in all the ways of life.”

Titus noted all the ways he’s helped by using his platform, from housing families to putting kids in college to helping schools.

Titus said he wants to continue to pay it forward.

Elsewhere during the interview, Titus commented on WWE going to Saudi Arabia. You can find his full comments here.
