Todd Pettengill Returns In New Promo Ad For NXT TakeOver: In Your House

Whoever said "you can't go home again" clearly didn't tell Todd Pettengill.

On Sunday, June 7, NXT will revive a long past WWE tradition, In Your House. In Your House was representative of WWE's first foray into monthly pay-per-view. The shows were typically less than 2 hours long and featured a budget-friendly price tag while presenting the family-friendly World Wrestling Federation of the totally rad 90s.

The voice of these monthly events in the eyes of many is Todd Pettengill. Pettingill is mostly known for being a radio DJ in New York on the now-defunct 95.5 PLJ, but back in the 90s, he was also the voice of the WWF. Replacing Sean Mooney at WrestleMania 9 in 1993, Todd Pettengill would go on to be associated with the WWF New Generation era, which highlighted such stars as Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Diesel, and Bret Hart.

Todd Pettengill left WWE in 1997, being replaced by Michael Cole, whom he actually helped get his foot in the door at WWE. However, within your house returning, "the Toddster" clearly had to be a part of the extravaganza.

In a new Promo video released by Comic Book, Todd Pettengill stands in front of a green screen with the old In Your House logo as the old theme song plays and he runs down the card for this coming Sunday's event.

"Hey everybody this is Todd Pettengill, and we are just days away from having a house party that would make Kid 'n Play jealous. This Sunday, as the doors to our house remain temporarily closed, the Superstars of NXT take over your house with an event 25 years in the making," said Pettengill in the nostalgia-heavy ad's opening.

This is the first on-camera that Todd Pettengill has done for WWE weekly programming since leaving in 1997. However, he was also the host of a compilation DVD presenting the best matches in the history of the In Your House pay-per-view.

Fightful will have live coverage of NXT TakeOver: In Your House beginning Sunday, June 7, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern.
