Tom Hannifan Says Steve Maclin’s Apology Was Horrific, ‘It Was The Most Insincere Thing Someone Could Possibly Do’

Tom Hannifan is disgusted with Steve Maclin.

Things got way out of hand on the February 26 episode of TNA iMPACT, as Steve Maclin attacked Tom Hannifan during an in-ring interview segment. On the March 12 edition of the show, Maclin was forced to deliver an “apology” to the popular commentator.

Speaking with Beyond The Bell for a new interview, Hannifan dismissed Maclin’s apology as “the most insincere thing” that someone could do.

“I wouldn’t really describe it as an apology, I think it was the most insincere thing someone could possibly do. That sucker punch to the gut was as cheap as it comes. I think all of us who have been in a fight or scuffle in their lives know what its like to get punched in the stomach. To have that from someone I called my best friend for over a decade, it felt like I was getting stabbed in the back. It broke my heart, honestly. His apology was horrific. What kills me about the entire situation with Steve is that I felt bad for him when he was fired. I discovered that live on the air, everyone saw how emotional I was and that was very real. For him to stoop to the level that he went to just to save his job, just to make sure he had a paycheck coming in when he knew that he could’ve did other things to try and get his job back. Instead, his brain went to, I’m going to attack the one person that fought for me the most in the company and somebody who has been with me through everything personally for the past ten years. I am attempting to be as professional as possible when calling the show and there is something to do with Steve, but I’d be lying if I said that will be easy come Sacrifice. I’m gonna try, but I think very little of Steve Maclin because if he was willing to throw away his best friend for money and a world title shot, I shutter to think what else he would do.”
