In September 2024, Hashimoto was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. Despite that, he would go on to have a singles match the next month against Kazuyuki Fujita. The match was thrown out as they were counted out.

In November of that year, Hashimoto received radiofrequency ablation treatment and then returned to work in December. He had checkups after and examinations determined the cancer was gone. This month, he underwent an examination and it revealed that the cancer recurred in his liver. His doctor said it would be difficult to treat it with Western medicine and a second opinion confirmed that. Hashimoto is opting to go the route of Eastern medicine which includes hot water therapy and dietary therapy.

Hashimoto said the following about his status:

“I will definitely come back to the ring after curing my illness with oriental medicine. I also have one more singles match with (Kazuyuki) Fujita and a goal to get revenge on, so please wait for me."

He is scheduled to be in a tag match on June 22nd. He'll be teaming up with Raiden and Kazu Shibano to take on Shuji Ishikawa, MIKAMI, and Thanomsak Toba.
