Toni Storm Retains AEW Women’s Title At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

“Timeless” Toni Storm retained her AEW Women’s Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, defeating Athena in singles competition.

The finish saw Toni block the O-Face and lock in the TMC Chickenwing, forcing Athena to tap out.

Just before the finish, Athena hit the O-Face on Toni, who was on the apron, catching her throat first across the top rope.

After the O-Face on the apron, Billie Starkz was looking to hit Toni with a chair, but she was interrupted by Mina Shirakawa. Mina took the chair from Billie and chased her away from the ring.

This was the fifth successful title defense for Storm. She won the title on February 15th at AEW Grand Slam Australia.

Athena is still the ROH Women’s Champion. Athena earned her title shot by winning the women’s casino gauntlet at AEW All In and executing the contract for a guaranteed title match.
