Toni Storm And Io Shirai Comment On Their Mae Young Classic Finals Match At 'Evolution'

Who will emerge victorious?

There is a six-woman tag team match, a RAW Women's Championship, SmackDown Live Women's Championship and NXT Women's Championship match scheduled for tonight's all-women's pay-per-view. To add, there's a Battle Royal, the return of Trish Stratus and Lita and the finals of the Mae Young Classic tournament all transpiring at 'Evolution'. The stage is set and showtime begins at 6 PM EST.

One of the highly anticipated matches of the show is the finals of the Mae Young Classic featuring two world-traveled athletes in Toni Storm and Io Shirai. Both women went to distance in the Mae Young Classic tournament and stood tall in their respective sides of the bracket. Tonight they find out who is the best. These two competitors have clashed in the past for the STARDOM promotion with major stakes on the line so they are no strangers to being in big time situations. Storm and Shirai were both interviewed by 'The Sun Sport' ahead of their matchup and shared their respective thoughts on 'Evolution' and their match.

Toni Storm: ?It?s so big I can hardly believe I?m here, I feel like my head is going to explode. When I was ten I was a huge fan of the Hardy Boys, Mickie James and Trish and I was like, ?I want to be like that?. I remember there was a moment with my mum when she said to me, ?You?re gonna be like those bloody wrestlers? and I thought to myself, ?You know what mum, yes I am', and that?s what I did.? Toni said.

Io Shirai: ?I?m so excited. The first ever women?s pay-per-view. In my heart I?m so proud. When I first started wrestling my dream was WWE, and I?m so glad to be part of it." Io explained.

During the interview, Toni discussed how her mother would sell hot dogs in order to pay the fees so that Toni could train to wrestle. To read the full interview, click here. Also, if you want to get a look at the updated match card for WWE 'Evolution', head over to Fightful's "events" section.
