Toni Storm Says She Was Nervous During The 'Evolution' Round-table With Sasha Banks And Trish Stratus

Toni Storm opens up about her experience during WWE's 'Evolution' weekend.

The winner of the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament and first-ever PROGRESS Women's Champion Toni Storm is establishing herself as one of the top talents on the independent wrestling scene and in NXT's U.K. brand. At the age of 23-years old, the New Zealand native has filled her resume' with accolades that were earned all over the world. Storm added another accolade to her resume' this past October when she competed on WWE's first-ever all-women's pay-per-view 'Evolution'

Storm went one-on-one with a familiar foe in Io Shirai in the finals of the Mae Young Classic tournament. During a recent interview with Mirror Sport, Storm reflected on the bout with Shirai and stated that she has always loved getting in the ring with Io and it was no different on that October 28th night.

"Thank you, I absolutely loved getting in there with Io, I always have. We've wrestled in Japan several times, we've even wrestled in Spain together, of all places. As hard hitting as she is, I love every time I step in the ring with her. She's one of my favorite opponents of all time." Toni said. "I'm glad I just got to have that really special moment with her at the end, because she is incredible and I'm so lucky that I got to have her as a final opponent."

Prior to WWE 'Evolution', round-table segments were streamed live on WWE's YouTube channel featuring the likes of Charlotte Flair, Shayna Baszler and Nikki Bella, and Toni Storm had the opportunity to be at a table talking wrestling with Sasha Banks and WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus. Storm shared that she was a little bit nervous but both Sasha and Trish made her feel comfortable.

"Ha ha yeah. I'm normally... funnily enough I can be a little bit of a nervous person. I'm a bit shy sometimes, but that was ridiculous. I was sat there with Trish Stratus for God's sake. It was insane." Storm said. "She is absolutely lovely, so is Sasha, and they made me feel very welcome and very accepted, so it was absolutely incredible. It's still hard to believe, it was so nice. They did have a lot of respect for me and it was so lovely of them, because obviously I'm no Trish Stratus. For her to consider me like... it's crazy thinking about it."
