Toni Storm: Thunder Rosa Had A Back Injury Because She Was Not Strong Enough To Carry The Title

Toni Storm gives comments on Thunder Rosa.

In August 2022, Thunder Rosa relinquished the AEW Women's Title due to a back injury. She was scheduled to defend the title against Toni Storm at AEW All Out. Storm would end up defeating Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida in a four-way bout to win the vacant title.

Rosa returned to the ring in December 2023 and has quickly worked her way back up the ranks to earn a shot at "Timeless" Toni Storm, who has regained the championship during Rosa's time sidelined.

"When it comes down to this [AEW Women's Title], no friends. She was injured. She had to leave because she couldn't handle the pressure of being champion. She had a back injury because she was not strong enough to carry this mountain of gold right here. I came in and became champion," "Timeless" Toni said on Going Ringside.

Rosa will get her shot at the AEW Women's Title at AEW Dynasty.

Storm is set to hold a toast to Rosa on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.
