Toni Storm: We Can All Agree The Interim Thing Was Bullshit

Fresh off of winning the AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm explained why winning the title felt more special than the way her first reign began.

At AEW Double or Nothing 2023, Storm defeated Jamie Hayter to win the AEW Women's World Championship. She had plenty of help in doing so, as Ruby Soho and Saraya attacked Hayter before the bell, and Soho continued to interfere during the match. Storm then pinned Hayter, who clearly wasn't at 100%, to win the gold. The victory kicked off her second reign with the title, as Storm previously won the Interim AEW Women's World Championship at AEW All Out 2022 after the champion, Thunder Rosa, was unable to defend the main title. Hayter then beat Storm to win the gold at AEW Full Gear 2022, and the interim title became the lineal AEW Women's World Championship.

During the AEW Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, Storm commented on her title win and noted that it felt extra special this time. She took a shot at the interim title and noted that everyone could agree that it was "bullshit." She also stated that it was a terrible time, but her second title win feels great.

"It felt extra special this time. I’m sure we can all agree that the interim thing was bullshit. Right, Tony? Crazy. That was a tough, terrible time. It feels great because this is what it should have been the whole time," Storm said.

During AEW Double or Nothing, AEW confined that Britt Baker and Adam Cole will face Saraya and Chris Jericho on the May 31 episode of AEW Dynamite. More information is available here.
