Tony Chimel Confirms He’s No Longer With AEW

Tony Chimel was a longtime WWE talent, working as a ring technician and then a ring announcer in the company from 1983 to 2020.
After his WWE departure in 2020, he joined AEW in 2023 as a producer.
Speaking on the All Axxess Podcast, Chimmel confirmed that he is no longer with AEW.
“I always had a good time there. They’re a little smaller operation and run things a little differently, but the people there are nice. I knew a lot of WWE people that are there now. It was a nice little run that I had there. Very grateful for the time that I had there. They do their thing the way they want to do their thing,” he said.

Earlier in the year, Chimel said he believed AEW would allow him to announce John Cena’s retirement match in December if WWE reached out.
