Tony D’Angelo Credits Shawn Michaels, Matt Bloom, Fit Finlay & Terry Taylor For Being In His Corner During NXT Hiatus

D’Angelo is grateful for those individuals.

At the 2025 NXT Deadline Premium Live Event, Tony D’Angelo made his return to NXT after having been off television since the summer of that year.

Going into the 2026 Stand & Deliver Premium Live Event, D’Angelo is making the media rounds, and one of his stops was with TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast. He spoke about the aforementioned hiatus from NXT and credited Shawn Michaels and the WWE Performance Center coaches for being in his corner during those times.

“The list of people that helped me through that time, it’s a long list. But, Shawn Michaels was a big component in that. Matt Bloom, Terry Taylor, Fit Finlay. All of those dudes are in my corner… It feels good when you have those type of people rooting for you and making sure you’re good and getting in your ear saying the right things, making sure that you’re on the right path and you know, I am who I am and they helped me remember who I was.”

D’Angelo is going to be in a Fatal 4-Way match for the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver. He’ll be in the bout with Ethan Page, Ricky Saints, and the champion Joe Hendry.

The four talents will have a contract signing on the 3/31 NXT at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden.
