Tony Hinchcliffe Was Offered A WWE Writing Job Years Ago

Tony Hinchcliffe has become more involved in WWE programming, hosting a Roast of WrestleMania as part of WrestleMania 41 weekend and appearing at various events.
On the Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan revealed that Hinchcliffe was once offered a WWE writing job.
“Hinchcliffe confirmed the story, saying, “It was only a couple of years into me doing stand-up seven nights a week at the Comedy Store. Someone is like, ‘Hey, I have a friend in WWE if you want to have a meeting with them to talk.’ I went in with straight up ideas. I went in with a whole thing. The guy is like, ‘Where the hell? This is crazy. You just did this?’ ‘Yeah, I found out a couple of days ago we were going to talk.’ They offered it, but I would have had to move to Connecticut and take a train to New York every night to go do stand-up, and that would have been exhausting. Anywhere else but Connecticut would have made more sense. New York City, no brainer. LA, definitely,” he said.
Hinchcliffe started his comedy career in 2007. Various WWE and wrestling personalities, including Triple H, have appeared on his Kill Tony show in recent years.
John Cena was a guest on the podcast, and he gave his thoughts on Vince McMahon and if he may return to wrestling. Fans can read Cena’s comments here.
