Tony Khan: AEW Is At Its Strongest When MJF Is At His Worst As A Villain

MJF is the reigning AEW World Champion and has no problem referring to himself as The Devil. MJF has shown throughout his years on AEW television that he has very few, if any, redeemable qualities.

Though he's arguably the most hated man in wrestling, AEW fans did take a liking to MJF after he returned at AEW All Out 2022 as he got cheers and chants from various crowds.

“I listen to the fans,” Tony Khan told Todd Martin of the LA Times. “When the reactions were so massive, I had to at least think about [making MJF a good guy], but MJF is the world’s best young pro wrestler and one of the best pro wrestling heels of any age I’ve ever seen and I think his ability to antagonize the other wrestlers and the crowd is unparalleled. AEW is at its strongest when MJF is at his worst as a villain.”

MJF is currently being chased by "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, Darby Allin, and Sammy Guevara as all three men are vying for a shot at MJF and the AEW World Title.

MJF is not currently advertised for Wednesday's AEW Dynamite. Fans can check out the current lineup for the show by clicking here.
